Errors & Problems

Here are some common problems you may run into.

Over Quota Notification:

If you are publishing your work with Kompozer, Thingamablog or with FileZilla and you get an error like one of the following:

In Thingamablog
Error publishing file to /media/
Quota exceeded: LightGirl01.jpg won't be saved 829 Kbytes used (81%) - authorized: 1024 Kb

FileZilla or Other FTP Client
Response:    200 TYPE is now 8-bit binary
Response:    550-Quota exceeded: LightGirl01.jpg won't be saved
Response:    550 815 Kbytes used (79%) - authorized: 1024 Kb

it is likely that you have exceeded your Yen 9 quota for disk storage space.

You will need to reduce the files or type of files you are storing on the server. The most common way that people exceed their quota is when photographs have not been properly prepared for the web or large mp3 / mp4 files or place on your web site. In FileZilla you can click at the top of the file size column and the files will sort in order of their size. You can take a look at the largest ones first. If you have files that are no longer used, you can delete them. If you have large photographs or audio files you will need to reduce their size or number.
