Sometimes called a web presence, a web site is simply a collection of computer files that are accessible by people through the Internet. These files may contain information (like your resume or your recipes), graphics (like your photograph), music (like mp3 files) and many other things. Each of these files is linked together by what are called links. These links are simply directions that tell your browser (like Firefox or Internet Explorer) where things can be found and what to do with them. These links or directions are sometimes called URL's (universal resource locater) or web addresses. You don't need to master these explanations because the tools we recommend and the tutorial we provide will help you with this.
